Home Visit Volunteer

Zero to Four Family Support Service

2 hours / week

The Zero to Four Family Support Service is a home visiting volunteer service for families with babies and young children up to the age of 4 years. The volunteers help families build on their existing strengths, offering
encouragement with parenting and a friendly listening ear and another set of hands. This help supports parents and little ones with the challenges of day-to-day life and builds positive relationships. The Family Support volunteers can also assist families to attend playgroups and other community activities helping them feel connected to their community.

Volunteers can draw from their experience as a parent, grandparent, or their experience in the early childhood sector, to make a unique contribution to the lives of the families and children that they visit, and the community.

We are looking for volunteers in North Brisbane who have an empathetic, caring and non-judgmental manner. An understanding of the needs and behaviours of babies, young children and their carers, good communication skills and some spare time!

Travel costs are reimbursed and you will receive 8 sessions of training and ongoing support.
