Participants may have a different disability which can either be physical or intellectual and we help them to enjoy the experience of safe surfing. A surfing background is great for beach volunteers but not essential if you are fit, over 17 and love the ocean. We also need land-based volunteers who can help us to greet participants and carers, provide social support and help with the many administration tasks such as signing in.
You will need a reasonable level of fitness and be comfortable in light surf conditions
