The role is about assisting nursing staff to care for patients in a non-nursing way to help make their stay as comfortable & relaxing as possible. A minimum commitment of 4 hours a week is required.

The role

You could play games, read a book, chat, colour in, change the flower water, fill water jugs, make cups of tea or coffee, open food packages for patients who are unable to do this themselves. You could also push a book trolley asking patients if they would like a book or magazine to read. This role is one for someone who wants to enable patients, offering them a much more pleasant experience than would be expected as an inpatient. If trained, hand massage and nail therapy can be offered.

Need to know

WWC, Aged Care and NDIS clearances and Immunisation Screening are required. Paid by the organisation
