Our mission centres on delivering accessible, culturally responsive education spanning vocational training through CDU TAFE to higher education, preparing all learners for meaningful careers and active citizenship. We foster collaborative research addressing the complex challenges facing our region, including environmental sustainability, indigenous knowledge systems, tropical health and cross-cultural understanding.

Through strong partnerships with industry, government and community organisations, we create pathways for economic development and social advancement across all education sectors. We champion inclusive excellence, supporting students from trades training to postgraduate studies to achieve their potential whilst respecting and celebrating the rich cultural heritage of our region.

We are the only university based in the Northern Territory, which gives our teaching and learning experience a flavour that is unique in Australia’s education landscape. Our connection spans beyond the Northern Territory through our digital and remote delivery, and internationally through our world-leading research.

We are proud to be Australia’s first dual-sector university and the largest training provider in the Northern Territory, building a skilled workforce while also providing pathways into higher education.

With 10 campuses and centres across Australia, CDU can deliver unique student experiences and offer training where it’s needed. Our on-country teachers engage with students no matter where they live, often driving thousands of kilometres to deliver services and support in the heart of Australia and its remote communities.

Flexibility and supportive learning experiences are key to engaging with our students. CDU has one of the most diverse student cohorts, of which around one in every five is a First Nations student. Our success in achieving this diversity can be attributed to providing a wide range of study options, personalised support and bringing mentors and community leaders into the university.
